This country has so much to offer – you can wonder at the stunning temple architecture, take a gentle trek, enjoy a flight over the mountains to spot the majestic Everest, search for wildlife in the jungles of the Royal Chitwan National Park (home to the rare Bengal tiger) and marvel at the breathtaking mountain scenery of Pokhara in the spectacular foothills of the Himalayas.  A tour will give a broader picture of this ancient kingdom perched on the roof of the world.

The most popular time of year to visit Nepal is October to November, the start of the dry season, the countryside is green and the air is clean and visibility of the Himalayas is at its best.  Temperatures are also moderate making this the ideal time to visit.  From December to January conditions are still good although temperatures can get very cold especially whilst trekking.  From February to March it starts to warm up again and travelling can be very pleasant with warm sunny days, the drawback being that dry weather and dust in the skies reduces visibility levels.

Highlights of India plus Nepal

The most enduring image that you will take away with you from a visit to India is of the people. Within its population of over one billion people there are over 461 different tribal communities speaking in more than 750 different dialects and these make up just 10% of the total population.  From the dark skinned Tamils of the south to the Tibetan people of Ladakh, the tall fair skinned peoples of the north to the shorter Bengalis of the east, this homogenous mix of people has come about over thousands of years of invasion, migration and trade.

Ladakh & The Himalayan Foothills

Ladakh is a wildly beautiful land of highland deserts, lush green valleys and snow-capped peaks. Dotted with monasteries and fluttering prayer flags, the villages retain strong Buddhist cultural links with Tibet. This journey combines Ladakh with the holy Sikh city of Amritsar and the mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh.

The Best of Nepal

The ‘abode of the gods’, Nepal is a land of superlatives, as ancient as time itself, where man and nature have created a landscape of quite extraordinary diversity and spectacle. From the towering icy giants of the Himalayas and the cultural wonders of the Kathmandu Valley, to some of the richest wildlife areas in Asia, Nepal’s attractions are simply unbeatable.
